Patient Stories
"I just don't have any energy."
Mary M.'s chief complaint to the
nurse was "I am tired all the time. I just don't
have any energy."
When examined by the Nurse
Practitioner, it turned out it was something far more
serious than just being tired, it was extensive blockage
of the carotid arteries.
Thanks to Cullman Internal Medicine
doing a carotid Doppler in their office, it was
determined Mary had 100% blockage on one side and 90%
blockage on the other. She needed surgical
intervention and she needed it now.
With a referral from the Clinic,
Mary was able to qualify for indigent care and had her
surgery within a month of her visit with us.
We are glad to report that Mary is
back at work, enjoying her grandchildren and is not
"tired all the time."
