About the Clinic
The Clinic grew out
of an idea of the Rev. Brent Norris, rector of Grace
Episcopal Church, Cullman. It quickly grew to
involve 12 churches. then more as it continued on a
journey from dream to reality on January 27, 2004, when
the first patients were seen.
Operating with
volunteer physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, lab
technicians, pharmacy technicians and non-medical people, Good
Samaritan strives to provide quality medical,
pharmaceutical, dental, vision, hearing and medical education
services to its uninsured patients.
The most telling
comment about the Clinic came from one of our patients.
As she was leaving from her visit with the volunteer
physician, she remarked to our receptionist, "Y'all
don't treat me like I'm poor."
Luke 10:25-37 is
the parable of the Good Samaritan. The last verse
is our motto and our guiding principle for all our
efforts.
"Go and do
likewise."
